Athena by Carolina Lebar

“Athena” is an original acrylic painting, 8″ x 10″ pencil and acrylic glaze on gesso board.

The beautiful Greek Goddess of Wisdom and War, and daughter of Zeus. Originally she was said to have chosen a crow because of their intelligence, but changed to be accompanied by the wise owl after realizing her crow was a trickster. Athena’s owl would sit on her shoulder revealing unseen truths to her, as the owl can see through deceit.
